Wonder how to make green bit your festive season by recycled Christmas decorations?
There are many ways to reuse waste paper, scrap or random other things around the House and garden, and you are certainly not all just for children.

We had an email from Philip, questions about disposable hair nets:
I work in food production (TV dinner factory) and have to wear a hair NET when I was on the ground. Some employees have correct hats, but the rest of us have to single use hair nets. Management say it is cheaper, but I think it is very wasteful. Can you be recycled?
When I a keep you, think I reuse home - single Schmingle use, use - if having a large baking or maintain session. (I am less effort on to keep completely sterile environment and more about my hair off my face - and my food one.) But when I was getting every day which really would be an option - and are not the sort of thing could share with others.
From what I've read this type of hat is made from polypropylene (older style networks nylon is sometimes) so that are actually recycling options on not existence very limited. It seems, as many can it a possibility of the textile recycling but all the information I find out in the United States is so I'm not sure if there are no companies over here. What are reused curtains a bit as of last week, but not so strong as not suitable for all the ideas for Sie-and again when you use every day you go fast, up to mount so that no amount of craft can solve the problem.
I think the important thing here is to reduce: if it is simply a question of the costs can consider so at least you are buying your own hat to the problem help - are not much and I suspect if you could some other stakeholders you might able to price down through bulk buying (or at least sharing shipping) press. However, from what I've read is sometimes a problem to protect clothes outside the sterile environment not take, so it would what pay arrangements (if any) are in place for dealing with the existing proper hats.
Got anyone any reuse ideas? Or any suggestions on do his bosses in the right like Philip and always reusable hats lobby?
Please welcome today's guest poster, joy Paley.
It's not just a baby. With a baby that need constant attention and is to choose if your needs without doubt easier, one-time use and comfortable elements loving. It takes a green genius to realize that many of these products not just good for the Earth, though. Take a minute to think about the cloth diaper, and consider other ways to make your little sweetie greener.
Use fabric baby wipes: If you already use cloth diapers, why not go all the way and do your own reusable baby cloths? There are several low-cost recipes you can stick with elements on the page, such as olive oil and Aloe Vera. Moisten some cotton towels with the solution if you are traveling and wash them with the dirty cloth diapers right, when you're done with you.
To make your own baby food: There are so many benefits for your own baby food. It is cheap, eco-friendly and you can control exactly what ingredients find their way in your baby's mouth. All you need is means a mixer, a sieve and a little. Can use it in large batches, fix it, and more thaw it out as you need. Check this University of Maine-out tutorial to get started.
Disposable avoid foods: It may take a few seconds longer a go on the container with milk than throw a disposable single serving sippy cup in the diaper bag fill. But the unnecessary consumption of single use food service elements adds up over time. You can BPA-free, reusable infants must travel cups and utensil sets online at a number of retailers find.
Earth friendly buy body care: Sure your baby shampoo may be safe for your eyes, but there are safe for the Earth? ?Should you buy a SOAP does not contain synthetic ingredients and practices fair trade and animal-friendly production. I recommend Dr. Bronner's baby mild formula. Buy it in the gallon jug and fill out your current shampoo bottle while attempting to save money and packaging.
To avoid buy new clothes: Children outgrow items as quickly, it seems that parents will need always to find bigger duds for your small. Instead of buying new, but keep in mind the environmental benefits of buying gently baby clothes used. She will reduce the massive amounts of energy for the production, packing and shipping a new item of clothing. And online stores make it easy, that stores right size used element in great shape to find, without scope from half a dozen thrift.

Polystyrene Recycling shaped white shapes that you as protective packaging, get when you buy electronics or large toys etc, is a pain - it can be recycled, now not but many places collect it.
In contrast to his foam "Peanuts" counterpart, which fits as multi-purpose packaging again, the shaped stuff only really can be reused to it, you have with it - but there still some fantastic possibilities is to reuse.
Pieces of expanded polystyrene foam make filled earthen pots for plant pots - large tubs with shallow rooted plants. The light foam fills the space rather than heavy soils make it easier to move and it helps with drainage.
Those concerned about plastic chemical leaching may want to avoid using it if fruit or veg in containers though.
Expanded polystyrene waste can be used to fun make artwork - it can be used as a core for sculptures or models.
Flat sections can be used as poster board/foam core Mount images, photos or posters on walls - the resulting image is rigid (so that curl is not), but light.
Deep pieces of the foam can be used to make wall hanging too blocky canvas style - your image to install, run so that the foam pages cover it at the edges. If you have a piece of polystyrene, which is large enough, make up a strong frame lengths of it instead.
Choose a reasonably smooth piece of expanded polystyrene and cover it with a quick drying fabric thin cotton or an old swim suit maybe - to use it as a floating pillow in the bathroom.
Or cover smaller, interesting shapes with fun website, floating make toys for children.
As it is light, bulky and easy to change it to rotate in Halloween or fancy dress costumes, where you want to be bulky - or/more robot / mechanical - as you are up to date.
The air between the different polystyrene beads caught it makes an excellent insulator. Some people are concerned about the use of around to the House in the event of fire, but it can be used in other ways:
Cold frame - shaped expanded polystyrene boxes are great as cold frames in the garden as you from the cold Earth delicate seedlings protect. You are often used for shipping chilled vegetables or chilled/frozen fish to questions at your local market to see if you have spares. Then you need only an old window or some pieces clear plastic sheeting for the top.Ponds - If you want to install a pond, consider a layer of expanded polystyrene around the liner and the Earth. Stop the cold Earth leaching way of water last bits of heat in winter. The foam above water swim, in the winter to prevent freezing solid - and in the summer, frogs can polystyrene floats as mock lily pads."Hay" oven-a Hay oven can to save energy while slowly cooking stews and casseroles. Start the pot on the stove and then cover it and put it in a well insulated box for several hours - the retained heat keeps hot and cook. As the name implies, hay is a common isolator - Advanced polystyrene can perform a similar job.Try to avoid buying the items packaged primarily with expanded polystyrene. Support for more environmentally conscious manufacturer instead used paper-based alternatives. And if you say the original company, do not buy why your product - it could inspire you to be greener in the future.
Starting from last week plastic dustbins and Monday's broken ironing boards, Philip also suggested
Broom and rake.
I don't know why, but people throw often orphaned handles and heads of various garden tools. I just play match maker. You may not have many garden tools on a farm. Reconditioned tools make great gifts.
Philip's idea is a great one - my father-not in-law collects and Matchmakes you. I think that almost all our garden are now renovated old tools.
We went to a couple of years through a period that lots of brushes (and Pug) break at the bottom of the handle - so had some brush heads lying around. I thought I had covered it on the website and someone had suggested, with you to make a boot brush scraper - but I can't find now so many I dreamed it - a good idea though!
I imagine that uses an old rake could make an en mass berry pickers like this crazy chop Atomic shrimp to make.
Any other reused for old broken brooms, brushes and rake?
Philip Mitchell Graham has quite a few comments in propose leave any item page recently so I think I should earn, me my way through his ideas!
First up:
Old plastic divided rubbish bins. I used one as a liner in an old metal trash cans. Metal storage bins lose often their floors, while the plastic, which often on pages divided. Between the two I made a perfect maintained am. I expect a few extra years of service from the two locations that had no future at all.
Great reuse Philip.
Without a metal outer are useful for storing things, which must be fairly dry but need to be dry bones. A split plastic am we have in our page doors for Kindle - it keeps it neat and at one place and not enough water makes it through the cracks to be a problem. We had another, I would probably pots and other bits and bobs - use it for my garden stuff-spare, which do not need to in the greenhouse but must be included so that you around blown have not.
Use old locations to your garden? Have recycled others to you?
Philip Mitchell Graham gave us another proposal / excellent upward trend idea left:
Ironing Board. One of the major monuments of inbuilt conformity is the Joint Board. They are designed, after a few years, and the legs often, buckle if someone a break because the folding mechanism of cheap mild steel heavy load of wash placed on you.
No matter you use a little fencing wire to you in an open position lock, then use you as light work benches in the Studio or in the garden. Sure, they are easy, but many challenges require a heavy table. A few of you have you a modular banking system can reconfigure easily indeed. They are easy enough to move with one arm, which is very useful if as I, you will find yourself at a bank if you have an arm full.
I suspect our is Ironing Board us survive we so rarely (in fact) we use totally shocked it, we had one - we thought it had gone to the furniture charity shop, before we moved house to find. It feels really flimsy but so I guess if we not used more than once in the year, it would fall apart in a shot.
I like the idea of Philip's mobile Workbench. With a table cloth about it, there could be an emergency table for a party or BBQ.
Any other suggestions? If fixed wire - with garden what can tube of all use of the metal legs or the Board?
Again is the big day almost upon us.
Hopefully you've been busy already Upcycling random stuff in Christmas presents and is easy to go to keep the green theme Christmas it recycled Christmas decorations.
Wait until you spring clean declutter now while all the new additions are fresh in your mind.
New-new in January sales, items that do not want or do not use, or it way, the sooner someone else will get some use out of it and it could keep old items which shiny replaced by something new - type sooner you having to buy gift shop.
Take not wrapping paper way - reuse it instead. Larger pieces can be flattened and reused (children especially notice the same paper used year for year), or in reusable paper bags gift.
Smaller pieces can be used, gift tags, festive envelopes or used to renew Christmas decorations for use next year.
Shredded to protect upholstery for gifts can be particularly crumpled piece to protect in the course of the year - or tender Christmas decorations while in the store, which brings me neatly Onto…
Save carefully removed and go every year - which means less waste capable of use on landfills and reducing your need to buy new stuff.
Shredded can gift wrapping and packaging (such as polystyrene foam advanced plastic shaped and formed) new toy or gadgets, to to protect sensitive items. Wrap tinsel and strings of Christmas to avoid the lights around a kitchen roll back tube or a plastic bottle clutter. Label fields so that you can easily find you.
If you have no room for the storage, not throw away decorations - pack neatly away and offer on Freecycle Freegle.
Also keep your favorite Christmas cards on the one hand - next year in recycled decorations to recycle or gift tags may be hidden in a decorations box-. Cutting others into narrow strips as shopping lists - use on the map easier than writing paper if you are traveling. Keep large cards for crafts - if you need any thin but strong map. There are many different ways to reuse them.
If you have can see many high street shops the reuse recycling collection bins specifically for cards - usually WH Smith, Tesco and M & S - often with a donation goes from memory related to charity (such as Woodland Trust) for each am cards collected. Some also collect cards for reuse/Upcycling in gift tags charity shops and the like - ask around to see that you included in your area.
A lot of energy went into growing birds carry around and cook it-so make the best of it, by up all meat left remaining and the camp of the carcass.
Use leftover veg, soup, making stews and Commons.
Use leftover Christmas cake, fruity rum truffle making - or take it outside for birds to eat.
If don't go to get through all your Christmas cookies or mince pies, be proactive about it before you to go stale - freeze some for later use (keep the Festival spirit all go January!) or give way to someone else - you could for free treated very thankful!
What are your favorite ways to reduce waste at Christmas?
We have an email from Sarah had r:.
Cleaning out my young toy box before Christmas, found out many pieces of wooden toys, when you were little, building blocks sorting the kind of thing blocked,. Attempts to offer either in original sets too many pieces are missing or not easy to know what with what's going on. Beautiful colors and shapes, shame on you am.
As for the "not with the know what, what is" question enlist the help of your sons;)
If the pieces of well-known, popular toys are, it might be worth offers on Freecycle Freegle or even eBay than spares - might want someone your bundle half lost or, as in the case of free building stuff, expand their supply. (Search "Spare parts" in young children's toy on eBay a lot PlayMobile/Brio/ELC Happyland things so that stuff would probably faster than generic building blocks or cheap toys go section.)
I can understand the request, before Christmas declutter but underestimate the value of the random bits and pieces for future imaginative play potential — I remember having random bits of preschool toys around, until I was at least 10, their use as assorted markers or objects, invent in different ways to fit the purpose.
The toys are likely to painted or varnished, so really burned or composted should not have been and I suspect to be safe for small, you'll be pretty clunky - may be too large for Upcycling fun fashion jewelry. She could make a cell phone or a decorative door hanger for a nursery though.
Any other suggestions reuse?
Here are some of my favorite comments first to links on the site over the past months if you missed them.
First up, at all the comments on our contribution as man in the habit of taking packed lunch - links great responses from all props: Bellen, Alice, Alexis, carol, Bobbie, Karmae, Cmdweb, Marti and "computer recycling and disposal". I wish the House I regularly leave, almost enough to justify take lunch!
Robert Campbell and rainwater of recycler's comments on our post to improve a grey water system were also very informative.
Karmae left a great proposal to post How to recycle or reuse the ends of receipt rolls - use clothes sewing patterns to expand, when the institution changes sizes.
Summer hit with the soil of plastic bottles keep underwear drawer neatly and Petra left a comment your spin on a bottle top a resealable plastic bag using explain stuff - Use balloons to make. Or you hypothesises, that it might be possible, a "vacuum" bag for fabric store seal to make.
Thoey stubs of old crayons - those used with erasers at - Mini stamps to make.
Mary Horesh added that a sixth proposal my large reused for polystyrene list-use it to fill empty space in your freezer as freezers are less efficient that are deeply (can plastic bottles with water filled for this purpose).
Alexis, I currently by representative for my spinning and weaving life will am, with an old curtain to isolate one herumliegt loft hatch suggested.
And finally bark was a reuse and a warning - sweet metal or biscuits doses make big drums for children us. Very, very loud ones.
Thanks to all proposed things over the last month - many truly inspiring ideas!
Amber sent us an email about Reed musical instruments asked:
I have tons of old Alto Saxophone reeds lying around and I was wondering if someone has an idea how you had reuse and recycling?
I am incredibly Unmusical, but Wikipedia tells me tend Reed, cane, make, however, there are an increasing amount of synthetic those in use.
The first idea that springs to mind turns it into a kind of jewelry - a subtle nod to your musical skills. Could necklace or bracelet chunky - possible, in a statement might be a bit like make this necklace or much had this bracelet (are made of the shell but I was thinking about the shape more than anything else). Or if you have a few, dangling earrings?
Any other ideas on how can recycled?
I apologize but I need to interrupt your I just my Christmas shopping like dancing for a moment. Turn around. See shaped things hang this excessively large sock, knitted by the fireplace (or in my case on the buttons of the ancient building)? You have to fill out...
Wait, wait - please don't freak out. Take a deep breath and read on!

Herbal ointments make a great stocking stuffer for the fifth greenest in your life, especially if you of MJ's herbals handmade. MJ sent me generously a range of their ointments to try. My favorite is the lavender E Salve ($12.99). I keep it in my desk at work and rub it in my temple to relax and to prevent that headache deterioration. I also enjoy the gentle and soothing Calendula Salve and use it to my kids if you have a rash or a scratch. It smells nice and smoothes your skin easily. MJ's herbals used only herbs that are grown organically or without pesticides in the United States that is important to me.

Happy shopping and happy holidays!
Our lounge curtains replaced and got a lot of stuff to check out swatches, colors etc. before hand. Not sure what you to do now. You are usually on A4 size containing fractions large patterns. Thoughts on small coin purse or PIN pads but pattern for that do not really work.
A friend of mine at University got a book of (admittedly plain) curtain fabric swatches and seams you together, to a patchwork curtain over your herumliegt making door for. This must be a 60 + swatches, though, probably more than you have.
Earlier in the year I was looking for basic fabrics door stops – basically cubes with a handle. If you have six swatches that are good color, that could work.
Or color coordination mini quilt padded coasters - where the General color more important than the pattern is. We have some little padded roller coasters, cloves you have so off a pleasant aroma leave if "activated" by a hot drink.
Any other suggestions?
Your question was:
How could I use fudge completely dry? I have two big boxes of completely dry Irish fudge I like would a use for to find. The fudge but not crumbly dry and hard hard enough, I want to risk my coffee with it.
Is there a way to soften it again? Or just break it somehow into small pieces to or enjoy coffee or something.
MMM, fudge. Between my misunderstanding about cracker on Tuesday and yesterday leftover Turkey recipe round-up, recycle this conspiracy, has feel hungry to me every week!
It could be with a cheese grater grooved and sprinkling used drinks up to cake/foam y?
This recipe "failed fudge fool" work possibly-make it in a creamy dessert.
Any other ideas?
I have saved our old clothes in the basement for years now in fields where hope, new ways to use it for. The problem was that whenever I had a idea and ran to my sewing machine to work on it, I would spend trying to get the hours @ # % * &$ * ing machine to work. The frustration was high, the productivity was low and most projects in tears with a mess of thread ends and bundled up fabric.
Last weekend, J got me a new sewing machine as early holiday gift and I am finally learn that sew hobby can be stress-relieving instead a stress induzierende. I am amazed how easy it is to give new life make old clothes and repairs, to things like I would keep in action.
Since I only learn how to sew am, I decided, that I would only use substances I already have - old shirts, sweaters, leaves, Pants-but I've been having so much fun, I think I can hit secondhand stores and consignment shops looking for "new" website if I exhausted my stash.
Suddenly, a shirt with a stain on it no problem, because I can make use of the tissue around it. I took buttons from old shirts, and I think it is quite possible that I never have to buy another! Earlier this week, I went a rock (see above) from an old, ill-fitting sweater using this AutoMotoTV video as a guide, and improvise with a second frills stuff when the original score was a bit too short for my modesty layer. It was so easy! And I'm working on a gift for J which I spoil promise to show as I am no longer risk the surprise for him!
I also just started reading the sweater Chop Shop: one-of-a One-of-a-kind creations from recycled sweaters , sewn by hand projects is full, I'm hoping adjust sewing machine.
During the actual sewing machine not necessarily a green gift it me grant is to reduce and reuse in some really fun ways.
I had "make cracker" my ideas list for a while and every time when I saw it I thought "mmm cracker", but it turns out I meant Christmas crackers. (Although I eatin a good ' cracker and - I'm doing it would highly recommend this Honey Glazed fennel seeds ones, and perfecting am my own varieties ingredient levels.)
So… Christmas crackers. In one of many, many newspaper articles about having a frugal Christmas during the new strict I've read Christmas Cracker is a false economy - because it often costs more make you at home, as you you to buy in the shops.
But money is not everything homemade can use much less waste, household waste and can include more than bits of plastic fact prices actually useful (or delicious).
There are many tutorials online for Basic crackers out of the toilet rolls pipes and squares of Christmas wrapping paper make (with purpose bought cracker snaps for the bit bang), but I wondered if anyone any ideas for making more interesting or creative had.
It is possible to make reusable Christmas Cracker? Refillable body every year?
And someone makes your own paper hats to go in you?
(There is a strong "reduce" angle here obviously - both to save money and waste, but for many people that you are an integral part of the tradition try, so best to Christmas reduce as far as possible through reuse and recycling place.)
(If you say to yourself "what on Earth is a Christmas Cracker?", ignore this post it is a stupid thing of the British)
(There of a lot of comments in this post, there is no?)
A bit of a blast from the past has GaryLamontL @ Recycle_this on Twitter asked about reused for wellies:
Just wondering if any ideas on what have to do is 3 old pairs of wellies I. You lick and I have enough planters!
We have covered this before, but many of the ideas were planter-ish. So has a fresh shout out - anyone got any more reuse or recycling ideas for old wellies?
Today we are a spin our usual "How can I reduce this..." after an e-Mail of Martine put issue:
I hate to buy sandwiches every day but I cant get into the habit, lunch in the morning. I'll do it for a few days then stop. I hate all that money and make so much waste! Do you or your readers have any tips on how I was in the habit could get?
Limit not to think that lunch sandwiches ==. When I away I was working from home to make sandwiches, not very good but I was pretty good, but remains. I think I have my homemade sandwiches rather unimaginatively to heat in the microwave part of the pasta salad or Curry and rice but mmm. I think it helped that I could prepare those night before and not worry about the bread go hard moist not my best etc. — I am in the morning.
I have a friend who sparingly most days - even two weeks eat porridge for lunch for reasons and weight maintenance, it will all dry ingredients (including some dried fruits) in portions in individual containers weigh out, so that he can only access it on the way out the door every day. (He makes some with milk powder if he have not access to fresh milk some days.)
These days, because both John and I work from home, we eat lunch at home, but on Wednesday night, I teach drama to time am out to dinner. I food in General, if I try again, but, a snack to take, to save me having to biscuits and chocolate as an Energizer buy out when I - something like flavoured crackers cooling must not and will not go if links in my bag until the following week.
What do the rest of you? Make your sandwiches and lunch every day? Any suggestions on how to get in the habit to do it? Or alternatives to sandwiches?
We had an email from (not mine) John:
What can with Smint boxes be done? Everything, what?
Smint packages plastic dispenser, sealed, open according to the Smint website and to "Assure the maximum hygiene for our product" may not. This makes you infinitely less easily than, say, Tic Tac boxes, reuse, opened and populated easily.
Does anyone know if there is to open a path & refill Smint boxes? If you can get boxes, you like Tic Tac you would be all kinds of small items such as beads, seed or air rifle helpful pellets for storage and dispensing. If you can get in but I am stuck for reuse. Anyone else got any ideas?
The best, what would be likely to avoid - that "collapse all" in the first place. There are many mints in paper packaging - a much smaller footprint available.
Any other thoughts?
After seeing Judith Williamson's wonderful jewelry made from old sweet doses the second week, I've been thinking about what could be done with you. T'is finally approaching the season for large doses of chocolate and cookies.
As good sealing metal cans, are ideal for use for things that must be kept dry - a sewing kit, first aid kit/emergency kits, flour, spices, seeds stash next year, spare nuts and screws into the box what save you?
But try for something more exciting? How did Judith they use to make something fun?
Eileen Bradley left a comment on our "like Christmas decorations through reuse and recycling stuff?" Post, questions about Wishbone fairies:
Does anyone know how make Christmas tree fairies from chicken or Turkey few mistakes. I've seen, done as you but don't know how you do. Thank you very much
I've never seen - and Google isn't helping me either so I can be of help. Anyone know more about you? You did one? And if so, any hints/tips to Eileen got started?
Or does anyone have a picture of one, so we can see what Eileen?
(Yes, I know I'm posting about Christmas in November but I thought it might be worth posting it in the Thursday if one or two our USian readers Turkey could be food.)
We have been using our more dining table before recently - regular use stops that always dumping for everything we have ground but can not properly storage be bothered. But because we are newcomers to the idea of actually restaurants at a dining table (in contrast to use it as an Office desk that we did until very recently), we have no placemats or anything like that.
Now I know I could only find, some pretty fabric and whip up some mats on a sewing machine, perhaps with the stuff a little batting / few additional layers in the Middle more heat resistant - make, but where's the fun?
Did you placemats by reuse/Upcycling something fun? I could RIP for Upcycling because you are old clothes only substance (such as placemats from old T-shirts or of old jeans with cutlery bags; are shaped I think, would felted jumper to work). Does anyone have any other ideas clothing recycling ideas?
And what about other ideas? John has the patterns on logs recently-enjoy a thin slice of the ends was if we could some pretty protocols and painting that might work. I have an other half idea of weaving some mats with old packaging materials – some colorful card (although it should be at least wipe-clean), some plastic bottles or drinks cans… Done someone something similar?
Would love to hear any ideas!
Please welcome back today's guest poster, Maria Rainier.
It is at first glance nothing green on a commercial jet, which generate between New York and Denver, between 840 and devoured 1,660 pounds of carbon dioxide per passenger. According to USA today is almost what generates an SUV in a month in the hands of an average driver. Especially after 9 / 11 airline feel have bigger fish to fry than saving the planet.
Yet, under the current and potential customers experiment pressure which is eco organizations and, more importantly, many airlines in greener pastures. Virgin has to with an investment of $3 billion energy efficiency come dabble in biodiesel and ethanol, although it is still very young. In 2008, Boeing flew the world's first hydrogen-powered fuel cell plane - even if it only a single seater, but this will probably change in time.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (is their way through the aid research by the University of Delft 2025 developing aircraft 50% efficient and 50% quieter than the current models is leading the way. Even your current models are value, note: Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 (for intercontinental flights) are up to 25% more fuel-efficient than their predecessors. Cityhopper flights see using Embraer jets that are 10% more economical. KLM is even focus on details of clean engines (the more efficient fuel burns), wing improvements and larger aircraft flying to popular destinations and smaller for destinations with typically less passengers. On an almost cute note, most are old uniforms for purposes of security, but KLM Upcycled yours burned in bags, slippers and more. Take a look here.
Can short of everywhere or no fly, fly KLM what the average flyer do to more environmentally friendly?
Select airlines with newer (more fuel Efficiect) aircraft. This includes but is not limited on JetBlue, Singapore Airlines, Virgin and KLM. Do your research your flight before you post. Flying directly to means San Francisco from New York without interruption in Detroit less fuel used. Destination for direct flights.
Delays screw up not only your schedule (and stress), let the aircraft idle and burn fuel. Airlines and airports to avoid bad reputation for delays. The most notorious airlines include American, Atlantic Southeast, ExpressJet, Mesa and United. Chicago O'Hare, New York LaGuardia, Newark, Philadelphia, and San Francisco airports made it on the naughty list. The national air traffic controllers Associattion (NATCA) runs AvoidDelays.com; Take you to a look for yourself.
Pack light and think of the public transport (or car-pooling) to and from the airport.

Today I have a combination of Google Maps and this Fuel Calculator-Web site to see how much it costs me go to work. I drive a small 4 L Ford Ranger, the same Ranger I use to your drag recycling in and the smallest pick-up capable to do the job. It cost somewhere between 0.18 cents / km if I have added the trailer for work and 22 cents when I do.
There are 2 main routes to work that I take on the highway and on marine drive from North Vancouver to my Office downtown. Sometimes I take the highway because it seems to me faster, but this route according to Google maps you added my drive 1.8 km and takes 1 minute more each way. According to the data only by you that shorter and seemingly quick way I would save.
1.8 km * 2 = 3.6 km *. 18cents/km = 65 cents per day or $14.03 per month and 43.3 minutes (per month)
Try it out for yourself. I thought it was pretty interesting.
Stay tuned to see how that compares to the bus…
A year in review according to Google. I did not recognize all that happened this year! I emailed just an old friend, I in a few years, and it was the spoken to me did not like I was your writing said the last time we only birds "tweeted", there was no such thing as the "iPhone", and if you wanted to play video games had to slouch on the couch.
A few weeks, I discovered an article promoting someone on Twitter was about "up your tired winter coat". Ooh! I thought I like sprucing! It is a great way upward trend & to reduce, after all - but when I clicked the item I found sprucing involved the addition of various straps, brooches and Doohickeys, that's good but not very me.
For me it is both a "fix it" and "reduce this" type question - how can I update that tired winter coat, so I don't need to buy a new? I think it's important that it not just so that it better but that I see over there to feel better.
I have basically three coats for the whole year - a light cotton Hoodie (which I take most of the year), an expensive for me big pile-cotton parka type coat for freezing days and a cheaper, faster "wants" to find one I wear when it is not so cold and I need a bit neater than the parka.
So how can I refresh those?
For me there are two main areas, the dirty - tired mein my bags and sleeves. The Hoodie gets thrown in the wash regularly, hurray for cotton. The parka and you would not easily washable in particular to the but wash spot on the cuffs improved things much. How for the bags do I troubleshoot my pockets as some women their handbags-treat a website for the accumulation of detritus. Sometimes this is but mostly good (I found a Fiver in my parka jacket when I put it on the first time this year!) bad (crumbs dog of Biscuts, bits of paper, sticky sweets). Emptying the junk - e & cleaning out the crumbs and dirt out of the pockets in the future don't look any better (although the line of the coat ruin many junk), but it will make it feel better for me and enjoy it to use more.
One other thing: my wants — it is not 100% wool of but wanted heavy and it is heavy woollen style - bobbly. A little ridges with a Debobbler would much cleaner look. I suspect there are also some hooks which could be cleaned up. I'll also debobble/de-snag my scarves and gloves-Fäustling for good measure.
Another issue: were the zippers on my coat hoodie and parka play until recently - I could with zip below in place to secure a few stitches and rub a little SOAP on the teeth to stop snagging and zipping until one would make less frustrating experience.
Another, more involved what: the feed on a wool-ish has always bugged me - it is icky polyester and now it is there - torn too. I could use an old fun patterned shirt, replace - with the original feed than pattern - Upcycling idea and conversion in one.
So that's what I do / will do. Do you have any ideas for ways to the refreshing an old coat?
Because we do what we said our water company, we are not fat meat cooking pour down the sink - we scratch / pour it in an old plastic container instead. The rough pot full is a combination of lots of fat from many different meals for the last few months, ick in the image.
When we our collection started, we thought we would it use to make this winter bird feeders - the fat is solid at room temperature, let alone to the minus some temperatures at the moment, so we make it with nuts and seeds to fat balls for local wildlife, we wanted to fill. But then I Las that you recycled meat should use FAT balls - to make fat, because it vulnerable to lubricate and cause you problems, can if your springs to clean. Does anyone know if this is true?
If it is rubbish, it is our recycling idea. Is there anything else we can do with it instead? Are certain fats (e.g. Bacon FAT) more reusable?
(By the way, fits the bird feeding stuff into something I wrote to Really Good Life yesterday questions about alternatives to shop bought for wild birds - about pop bird feed and read it if you are feeding birds!)
We have leaves & these and Springs & down-covered blankets itself but not intact.
I thought about duvets last week - not only because I much of Thursday wrapped in one and the rest of the week spent wish I was wrapped up in one, but also because I saw this vacuum and blind tutorial. Granted, it's for a quilted throw that more than a blanket, but a summer weight duvet similarly would work.
Duvets in good, clean condition can be given shops or shelters/shelters charity shops / economy as blankets be reused.
Those in less good condition can be converted into other beds as mattress toppers protectors/under blankets or pillows.
Any ideas on how recycling?
It's easy to say itself stop Cook too much pasta or rice, but it is more difficult a fixed (or at least minimal) size, to cook just the right amount of Turkey since. Remains are not a bad thing but you only get a bit boring when it Turkey every day sandwiches...
I love this idea, because a lot of people have to leftover Stilton for Christmas too. Already cooked Turkey though - need to add long in the Pan it before the sweet potato instead of mushrooms.
Making individual pies are a great idea for this time of year when people are extra busy – these guys can be frozen to be then thawed and cooked needed instead of a large cake that has all at once eaten.
Come you drooled just read that title, you don't? I have certainly! * wipes keyboard *.
Another Fab recipe because you will have most, if not all the ingredients on hand from dinner Christmas preparations - such as root veg, bacon - and the croutons also use to day old/going stale bread. If you are really organized can the consisted of Turkey carcass to (see side panel below) first.
Make one consisted of Turkey carcass for use in soups and stews. If you're not going to use it immediately, los reduces it to a lot are the excess liquid, and freeze you. If you're feeling lazy, slow cookers are all great for the production of camp - in pile.
After heavy roast and puddings (mmm cumbersome food), this recipe is refreshingly light. Ever not seasonally with Zucchini and pepper, but still, mmm! If you have quite enough Turkey, pad out with Pinto or kidney beans.
(I like the idea of stacking you as a pie instead roles.)
And flavours, keep up with new world awesome, and I am this is again drooling at the thought of it. Leftover Turkey, rings some sort of smoked / spicy sausage, colorful vegetables and spices - a surprisingly fast but delicious option.
Finally, I could not leftover Turkey round-up without including a curry - firstly because Turkey Curry is a delicious cliche and secondly, because I about Spiceness!
This recipe from the wonderful people at the LoveFoodHateWaste is effectively two curries in one - tasty enough on its own but flavoured in something a bit more Thai transformed with the addition of coconut milk.
What will you do with your leftover Turkey? What are your favorite recipes?
My colleagues and Greenists released so many great gift ideas in recent weeks. Is 23. December a bit too late to share another? Perhaps. If you an early jump on NEXT year's holiday season, but want or if just the feeling that your busy posted December guarantees you a new year's gift for yourself, then I have another suggestion for you. How about a Bazura Bag?
These robust, colorful bags are made from the traditional not recyclable materials of a women cooperative in the Philippines, would otherwise litter the streets or crowd landfills. Children from local schools collect used beverage containers (so-called doy packs in this part of the world) and sell to the co-op, where women clean and sew into pockets of all sizes, as well as accessories such as belts, placemats and sandals.
"Bazura" means "Garbage", but the end result is anything else than. Their catalog contains all the way up to a huge laundry bag so many fun and useful designs of pencil bag and small handbags. I received one Bazura's 15?x12? market bags to the try, and it has become my favorite go to bag for any number of things back and forth toting fast. I love that it holds its shape and easily maintain almost like a box so that it's easy things inside all neat and tidy, but it super flat when not in use, to folding stacking. And I love the unique look of all "Sun GLO" and "Zest-o" panels in a row. I can use it to take a board game, a bottle of wine and a container of cookies to a party and never again one of these "Is this your bag or mine purple reusable 'Minnesota co op advantage'?" Discussions, if my friends and I collect to leave all our stuff.
I had my bag Bazura just a few weeks, but I'd be very surprised if it does not last for many years. I was skeptical about the shelf life of a punching bag made of beverage containers, but double seams that all look very solid and nylon belting, step up to the belt and edges seems so that the construction is quite safe. And it is easy to clean, to! Since the bag slick and plasticy/slide- as inside and outside, I wipes everything, what spilling or squash in it slightly right above.
You can review all categories of Bazura products in Bazura Shop. Apart from the market bags I cover also the woven like wallet, lunch bags and boxes and the Banner carrying bag and coin. However, you can have a different favorite and guess what? Sell profits!
The good folks at Bazura bags have offered a luck Greenists readers send a Bazura bag of their very own. Enter would just leave a comment on this post, let us know what Bazura bag that you like best, and we have our friend the random number generator choose a winner in a week.
Set the hand OK, above, when you are cold.
I suspect that everyone in the northern hemisphere is waving at your computers right now. It is pretty BRR.
On my frugal/Cook/growing blog Really Good Life I have five economical way I will keep warm this winter-but one thing I is off missed the list by glass excluders (aka Slacker) is written.
Earlier I voted a black fun fur one - that our black real fur cats - but it was in the days when the cats were more territorial... and amorous. I finish this beautiful story. Last year, after we had just moved into our new home, there were so many drafts and bits of poor insulation, the excluders draft seemed pointless, so I didn't bother. This year however, game on!
So you did what you out? Recycle this regular BookstoreBabe made some of her daughter old heavy patterned tights and rag bag filling - but be warned that you routes! I have also heard people from old woolly make jumper sleeves or cuff completion – only the ends and order sewing.
I imagine the blankets from the other day the work without sewing or cut need - in a role would do bound. And no, it is not forgotten you will not work on it, sit so it must be filled with soft fill as a cushion or pillow are you newspaper, tote bags, or things like styrofoam peanuts - everything a bit bulk have.
Made you have your own? What did you use? Send images / links if you have!
Maybe it's only the blogs I read, but it seems, as more people than ever think make gifts Christmas.
There are many ideas out there for production of pastries, cakes and jams, knit or crochet some pretty - but when you're looking for a really economical total Christmas, all these ingredients & yarns: what about things that you can make by reuse/recycling/Upcycling out things around the House?
Here are my favorite ideas for simple and economical Upcycled Christmas gifts:
Handkerchiefs are easy to make from each soft old cotton fabric - bedding or to clothing. They are simple but always useful - and help reduce the recipient tissue use disposable.
Not feel I did too boring white - that, in the picture from an old pink gingham shirt - and think, monogramming / embroidery, thus you very special.
(Use 100% cotton fabric, where possible and 100% cotton yarn too, you can process is washed in hot temperatures, if must be.)
As practical, there are a metric bajillion tutorials for outdoor fun shopping bags from pillowcases T-shirts scraps yarn old plastic bags... you name it out a shopping bag out of it!
Pick your poison depending on your skills and again, customize / personalize to the recipients customize.
If you give others presented to you at the same time, use to save the Pocket instead of wrapping paper more waste.
We offer ACE jewelry here - people food packaging and other waste regularly examples from Upcycled and transforms them into beautiful bracelets, necklaces, earrings and other accessories.
When inspiration is not enough, there are many tutorials out there as well - for example, can turn a drinks in a flower brooch, or plastic bottle earrings, or A bottle cap charm bracelet.
If wood processing more your thing as sewing or jewellery turn old pallets or other scrap wood in wooden garden planter. They are easy to use and widely available-an eye keep out when passing of skips or industrial areas.
And what about something to go into this new growers? If you grow your own flowers or veg, probably have a stash excess seeds - share your Favorites!
Make small seeds envelopes from scrap paper inside of security envelopes or brown paper see used and write the sowing details on the outside - and how about including an Upcycled plant label? You can make the Lolly sticks or metal strip cut of beverage cans.
Or how about make a notebook/journal from an old hardcover book? Personalize it by some of your gift-ee's favorite author - or a favorite book from childhood to find.
What are you people for Christmas? What are your favorite Upcycled handmade articles? What do you want to receive from others!
Last night I beer. At home. In my kitchen. And Holy smokes it is ever EASY!
If I had realized how easy it was (it was about 5 years since the last time I beer); It is pretty safe date that white I beer would have gotten this each Christmas.
Beer home easy, but it is ecological lower impact and wallet makes not only friendly. The beer that I made $20 cost me and is about 23 L provide when all is said and done. 23 L should develop 65 bottles beer. What would you pay for these same 65 bottles at the Liquour memory? Around $100 is about $80 of profit and control. Also if you make beer at home, the ingredients are really just "food". Malt barley, yeast and various grains. All "food", so that no HST. No HST, no tax schnapps and no profit to large breweries like Molson and Labatt's (not that there is something wrong with you). Hmmm, I think I am on to something here...
Why is it good for the environment? Because what is better than beer-blue bottles in the box? Use again! Again and again. When I started to make beer YEARS ago, my Dad gave me his old including a whole range of seed bottles. I used some of these bottles, 10 to 15 times and maybe more, I do not count. The thing with glass is that it is difficult and it costs more in fuel to move to heavy things. You can move and reusing more pop cans per unit of fuel burned as beer bottles, the best way is to recycle glass it reuse. Make beer is my preferred way to recycle glass.
So in summary, that beer good for your wallet, makes it fun to do, with your family (cider I'm doing with my father for his Christmas present (I can mention on the network because he would find my blog, if about it on the computer went)), and it's great for the environment.
If you have your own beer with the questions, hesitate to questions. Beer making (and recycling) is / are some of my favorite things to talk about!
Since Christmas is only five days away, I thought, I give you insight into NPW's would be green wish list for Santa. If celebrate not Christmas, or believe jolly old Saint Nick not more ask awesome eco friendly gifts of any time of year still for this. I promise, green and Red no striped Elf socks here!
First up, one finds my fave Etsy of season. Vegan apartments! If you ever had you to my place firsthand knowledge of my slight obsession with apartments. I love you wear to school; a fun pattern helps accent an outfit. And I think maybe you see a little festive with red and silver? (I would have still you in April.) Just sayin '.) This vegan apartments are extraseed and I'm in love with you. Santa/MOM: do you hear?
Earlier on the list, it is super fun reusable mug. I would feel every day much better on the implementation of this work as a pretentious Starbucks mug. Plus, I think it would love my middle schoolers!
My skin makes this season always unbearably dry. No matter I stock up on I always saddened to see my usually healthy me skin making suddenly look how much lotion am am how one hundred years old. Damn you, electric heat!) Lush's Dreamwash helps to keep my skin supplied, without the oily ingredients found in the most body washes, which break me. Plus, lush of all uses natural ingredients in their products!
Recently, I tried me get over the feeling that I look stupid in hats to make. I mean new England winter is cold, people. Cute knit slouch hats are help me easily in the idea like WHOA. Seriously: is how adorable this one in Sage Green? I want a way to steal your sunglasses. You say your.
After Christmas is over it is a long-haul to make through the rest of the winter season. The future Beach dream one thing, is me through the rough patches (AKA the month February helps). Which Beach would completely without a beach bag? Perfect for a day of Sun and fun, not true is this striped, button studded bag?
Merry Chrismahannukwanzikah, fellow environmentalists! I hope get any green thing your little Grinch heart desires. See in 2011!
I am a little disappointed that today find out that it costs less fuel for me to take office as to take it to the bus. $3.75 2 Zones and fuel would be about $2.40. I would still save on parking, but only if the job I found is not available 1 / 2 block from my Office.
In short, disappointing.

Since my favorite Upcycled share Christmas present ideas and recycled Christmas decoration proposals, I discovered another couple awesome things I thought I should mention if a few free hours today afternoon got you have and want to reduce, reuse and recycle!
For all, to celebrate Christmas, have a very funny!
You don't have all those celebrating Christmas morning a fab weekend!
Earlier in the week I had a point to the email from cubby questions:
How can I recycle a leather dog collar?
My first thought was using it to keep / pass it on - but then I remembered that old leather collar of lily's we here, after the metal work rusted and eingerasteten off is in a not-easy-to-fix way so it may be cubby in the same position. (I'm pretty annoyed about the rust, looked when I specifically went to be for a good quality collar, with the hope it would last and least.) (Bah!)
Have basically what was we linked is a strip of pretty hard leather that is shaped and holes at one end.
It is not easy to random leather recycle more things - logistically more than anything else as the tissues and shoe, to collect the remaining bits are locations usually aligned that reuse, and rather sent overseas as industrial processing can be so you probably don't know what to do, and it could only end in a Cabinet.
A leather strap, but could be reused in a number of ways you might be able to upward trend a collar of a small dog in a bracelet/cuff (as you could do with an old belt). A longer collar can work as a replacement strap on an old bag/baggage or as a brace in the Garden - we out soon some fruit trees planting will need staking, Lily's beautiful Brown collar would a strong alternative to rope, etc. make.
Any other ideas?
The following post was provided by www.RoofingWindows.net.
We heard all have solar panels are an effective green roof technology for residential homes, but how many of us actually have you? More important is how many of us know what you are and how they really function?
Solar roof is grouped on the roof for the storage of energy over glassy panels. It is a kind of photovoltaic technology that converts and stores the energy of the rays of the sun into electricity for homes and buildings. Solar cells are made of Silicon that is the same in Windows and mirrors, used, although these panels use only pure and unrefined Silicon conduction for maximum energy.
Solar roofing works in several ways. One is to absorb as much sunlight as possible during the day and save that energy into a large generator-like battery that is used at night. This means that regular gas energy is still used during the day. Another possibility is the use of solar water heating, captured sunlight radiation absorbed by the solar panels, and uses this energy to heat water in a heat exchanger tank. This tank then transfers the energy to a conductor who is hooked up to electrical outlets around the House. However, the most direct way is use solar panels over individual solar cells in specialized panels quickly sunlight transform into electrical energy by photon interaction with the metal contacts.
The above method is the fastest method, but it is also the most expensive. Each panel costs, averaging $10 to $12 per watt that average price tag for a standard home that works only in solar roofing can be a $20,000. This is not to mention, change insulation installation, the solar cells to support, that a significant amount and costs will be necessary.
Are the effort really value and the up - front costs? Many say they are. Installation of solar panels on the roof of your home can cut utility bills nearly in half and would do a great service for the environment and its dwindling natural energy resources. Currently, 1.5 million households in the United States use the solar water heater. This number is expected to rise as more States House and homeowners methods and the decreasing cost of residential solar panels give better fiscal incentives for the installation of green roofs.
Home utility stores roofing materials as Lowe's and Home Depot already offer do-it-yourself solar and develop teams of experts to help with the installation. In a sense you see green roof and solar panels as the future of home building.
Solar roofing can be expensive, and its installation can mean a lot of time and effort, so it is best, think it as an investment. In truth paneling can serve solar best, those living in States with large tax incentives or for those creating your own homes in a sunlight-rich area, but everyone with the right image and fund certainly can benefit, that solar has to offer panels.

Want to to the yellow pages? Courtesy of @ Cleanbinproject today I learned that you can opt out of the yellow pages. Here is the link that was your Twitter after http://delivery.ypg.com/delivery/
Not only is the yellow pages use a whole heck of a lot of paper created, it is basically useless. Umm Google? It is a wonderful thing. Do you want a pizza? Go to Google maps, type in "Pizza in nearby my address" and presto, your answer.
Also, yellow pages and Canpages, are expensive to advertise. If you want an ad that makes impact need $1,000 spend each month (also that slow!) otherwise combined with all others will display in your category. Now, what is that?
Thirdly, weigh much (I have to weigh a handy but I have a question, the greater Twitter community via @ start recycling.) (If I were to guess, I about 2 KG say.) And what we burn all that fuel for our vehicles? Move the 150 lb driver? No! Fuel is burned, move the 1500 KG steel cage, that surrounds the 75 KG driver. (If you just want to move a body a 50cc scooter engine will work handy 60 Railway Office)
So, not only all these yellow pages print affects the environment (I was not able to find the number delivered in Vancouver but I expect to 100's thousands in the greater Vancouver area) only in the ink, paper, etc.. But remember the fuel burned necessary, move them to your delivery locations and then pick when you keep unread annual doors open etc. sat have. Then go lines sorted by people who went to work in the heated buildings on sorting and have from the cardboard out kept and then converted to a mill in pulp, transported and so on. This is one heck of a footprint vs. Googling "pizza" or "fresh start recycling".
Fresh start is numbers never advertise in the paper version of the yellow pages. It is not correct. It's bad for the environment, and we should accept this from our citizens.
Check out Miss 604's article about this from last year: http://www.miss604.com/2009/10/yellow-pages-custom-delivery.html I borrowed your image below.
We have an e-Mail Shannon had:
We have plenty of curtains from the days before we all were realized you naff! They are chintzy and are made of nylon or polyester or something. Do you have any recycling ideas?
If you are still in good condition, you could try to pass-ask on Freecycle Freegle or questions a charity shop, if you will take you (a charity shop with much furniture or furniture would be certain charity probably best if there is a nearby). Most charity shops have a "rag man" for items that accept but not sell-, so if you can sell, at least in the textile recycling cycle in this way would come.
If you are not good enough at State - pass and one wash you enough revive be better condition parts perhaps suitable for reuse or Upcycling.
Lee Meredeith - aka Leethal - lace Doilies as templates for the decoration plain frame for your wedding - if you could it parts NET with a nice design giving curtain, be used for something like this. I think I've seen, uses a similar method to clear jam jars recently-holder to decorate makes in shabby chic candle/turtle.
Or if there are focus point designs, those could cut out and use as Doilies for other craft projects - if there is not enough of the real thing outside where you are, this Snowflake of Doilies are an entertaining window decoration festive. Sticking with the substance stiffening are idea, these dishes to fun.
Any other suggestions?
Long time has this recycle-he asked Lizzy on "The great Brussels Sprout stem thing":
Sprout any ideas for great Brussels shaft things? Oh, and can you eat the leaves, sometimes at the top?
I think the easiest thing to do here would be first and foremost - reduce shoots first and foremost not buy, you are horrible;)
If you do eat but it can be cooked apparently leaves like cabbage. I had success less find out something about the shaft when... Other stems in the Brassica family (like broccoli) can be eaten, so that it does not surprise me wouldn't if you could - eat no recipes found for doing so. Got anyone any ideas?
As for other reuse ideas play apparently love chickens with you picking all the last bits of sprouts. Does anyone know if other small animals (rabbits etc) could nibble at the shaft?
Any other ideas?
I started yesterday really advent this last week but nevermind question should have.
We do not celebrate Christmas, but I know that do one or two people around the world - and some of these people have advent calendar to open up to 25 on the run.
When I was a kid, I'm pretty sure my mom gave us the same calendar several years running, with the doors place - closed it properly no matter, because enjoyed at the opening the door to see what's behind him was enough. Then when I was my early youth in the early 1990s, chocolate advent calendar was suddenly cheap and widely available, the chocolate, rather than the drawing of the Bell or the reindeer was the target and the calendar suddenly was disposable.
But it must not be! There are some great examples of the creative - and reusable - advent calendars out there - like This spool advent calendar Kit from Cathedral Holden of just something I made - I think, something similar could by recycling be made from any kind of plastic tubing or even role toilet paper tubes set up if you have 24 cotton coils to the hand. I love the idea of having treasure hunt elements, the messages or with Christmas preparation activities tasks- or you stupid jokes to everyone get could be heated for your Christmas crackers.
I've also seen, some examples where people have gathered 24 boxes - could be, old packing lacquered or covered in paper as also numbered - and put together a countdown calendar with ample closet space. You would be filled with goodies or properly gifts tree foliage would – many children would love to decorate the structure one item at a time as each item is displayed. And days of the weekend with craft supplies, you have make a tree decoration could be filled.
And it has not strictly recycled, but I love Lucy's Advent wreath reusability of attic 24 – it could be recycled, reclaimed yarn or Upcycled, use you to sewn stars instead of crochet make).
You did everything a display calendar through reuse or recycling?
Or have you seen more great examples out and about on the Web?
Wings of nature together some healthy snacks for Wolf and I for example sent. Believe me say YUM! Three samples were sent: Cranberry crunch bar, almond raisin bar and espresso coffee bar. I tried the first two during Wolf sampled the third.
The bars are sweet, but not übermäig. This is because there no refined sugar. Rather, the bars are "organic Agave syrup and organic brown rice syrup sweetener according to the website and to our taste buds mixed with". Wolf neither I felt as if our blood sugar sky shot then crashed and burned as we with regular Granola E bars. The bars were no moist and yet crisp without teeth break chewy.
The bars are filled with healthy ingredients "gluten free, certified organic, low in sodium, [a] source of fiber, vegan/dairy free, cholesterol free, no GMOs, no trans fats, low Glycemic carbohydrates, no preservatives or additives, certified kosher, [and] vegetarian." I would have no problem to give them to children or people with sensitive diets.
The bars are versatile and easily put in a desk, purse or backpack for those times when you need a quick snack before dinner. Make a great stocking stuffer so consider, healthy snacks in the stockings love your crap instead of chocolate or other unhealthy "goodies" and cheap plastic.
