How can I reuse or recycle plastic dustbins split?

Philip Mitchell Graham has quite a few comments in propose leave any item page recently so I think I should earn, me my way through his ideas!

First up:

Old plastic divided rubbish bins. I used one as a liner in an old metal trash cans. Metal storage bins lose often their floors, while the plastic, which often on pages divided. Between the two I made a perfect maintained am. I expect a few extra years of service from the two locations that had no future at all.

Without a metal outer are useful for storing things, which must be fairly dry but need to be dry bones. A split plastic am we have in our page doors for Kindle - it keeps it neat and at one place and not enough water makes it through the cracks to be a problem. We had another, I would probably pots and other bits and bobs - use it for my garden stuff-spare, which do not need to in the greenhouse but must be included so that you around blown have not.

Use old locations to your garden? Have recycled others to you?

How can I reuse or recycle plastic Smint boxes?

We had an email from (not mine) John:

What can with Smint boxes be done? Everything, what?

Smint packages plastic dispenser, sealed, open according to the Smint website and to "Assure the maximum hygiene for our product" may not. This makes you infinitely less easily than, say, Tic Tac boxes, reuse, opened and populated easily.

Does anyone know if there is to open a path & refill Smint boxes? If you can get boxes, you like Tic Tac you would be all kinds of small items such as beads, seed or air rifle helpful pellets for storage and dispensing. If you can get in but I am stuck for reuse. Anyone else got any ideas?

The best, what would be likely to avoid - that "collapse all" in the first place. There are many mints in paper packaging - a much smaller footprint available.

How can I reuse or recycle biscuit plastic packaging?

I'm a fan of pastries (aka cookies). I have written my love cookies.I am a biscuit eat while writing dieses.Ich trying to make my own cookies but we eat in the store of bought ones too - and this means of course, that packaging waste.

Are my favorite shop bought, McVitie's dark Choc consume so I contacted United Biscuits (who to make McVities and some other brands) recently about your film y packaging. Got back to me immediately – this is great, compared to most companies - but the news is not good:

"Packs are made of polypropylene that is not biodegradable." It is however recyclable, although I got Kingdom am while there are facilities, make this place elsewhere, currently none in the United Kingdom work sind.Wir with the Government and appropriate collection in the UK to try to develop.

So say, reused it - can be what the other options are? apart from make more home, I am careful to bulk purchase possible (the excess keep mercy to avoid air-tight), but don't buy your multi-packs that Pack are the regular packs in an additional plastic.

There are reused for polypropylene film? know anyone from any other recycling to explore avenues?

How can I reuse or recycle Nesquik plastic tubs?

Recycle this regular Lizzie has asked:

Suggestions for Nesquik tubs? I Nesquik think probably the greenest solution for my chocolate milkshake looks, but what, oh what with the rectangular-ish bright yellow tubs do I?

Google tells me that there are several types of Nesquik bath but the Nesquik Web site has a picture of this kind - curved plastic of oblongs - so will I - go this way with, hopefully means Lizzie.

I can imagine would test set - pretty well to protect the content between milkshakes - so that you are reused as a container for other dry cargo konnte.Wenn a moment I, would I use it for rice, like a too-big-for-me-to-hold bag it we have or open packages keep dry and air tight of flour or sugar.

Provided that the label will switch and are links with plain yellow bath, the fun gives color even when storage in a children's room to be used - I suspect it is simply too small for the most pencils/felt tip pens, but crayons it fit would, would like small numbers/toy.

As for the fact it, I not online can recycling find out, what kind of plastic the tubs are made from - who knows?

(BTW, on the website Nesquik "Mothers" and "Fathers" have separate sections: the mothers section is about the diet and your children to drink milk, because "it is good we know for you", while the "fathers" bit is fun to spend time with your children and the nostalgic for the Nesquik taste to überzeugen.Seufzer.)

Recycling of plastic bottles in the Garden: reuse it all!

Dani saw my mention using a plastic bottle cap to a resealable plastic bag last week and has to say in touch, finds ways to reuse the whole bottle in your garden Marigold adventure.

I use an old grain bag and a top bottle, the seeds airtight / waterproof as keeping seeds of various families stick together.

I use the neck section as a mini collar to protect my plants and I use the basis for all lemon pips I grows as a plant owner - just perfect.

How can I reuse or recycle the plastic bags from cereal boxes?

Like Tin foil can not the second week, I think we have not an already covered.

How can I reuse or recycle plastic tablecloths?

After last month straw placemats and coasters post I think table cloths through plastic "disposable" - type people buy as a cheap way to decorate your table for children (and other) parties.

You are usually thin sheets of plastic, coloured either bright or covered with character images - so you seem like ideal candidates for Upcycling - any specific ideas?

Are also good as table/floor/all sessions - covered while messy craft industry or a no poncho pattern sewing using transform you into splash-proof ponchos for very messy art activities!

Of course it would be better, reduce first and foremost - buy multi purpose Ones.Oder washable textiles or easy-clean oilcloth if you not, that to ruin a bunch of 5-year-old want to, children decorate it yourself - the best bits cover tables cut with cheap blank newsprint/sugar paper and let, and kept as a souvenir your best bed linen and the rest can go in your paper recycling.

As for actually recycling you are plastic, usually made of HDPE (resin code 2) as shopping bags - so in addition to shopping bags recycled can made.

How can I reuse or recycle plastic cabbage salad/potato salad sinks?

Between the good weather and the World Cup has every weekend before recently barbeque madness in the United Kingdom, i.e. the burgers, salads and salad accompaniments are shelves at the grocery store revealed by 10 am, only one lonely limp iceberg lettuce left to say the devastation.

Prepacked prepared food like coleslaw, potato salad, Bean Salad or Couscous - and the most salad bar sinks I've - seen come in plastic tubs with resealable lid, but the plastic tends to be somewhat easy & flimsy - so not as could be ripe for the reuse of such as you.

What you use for?You seem a little too flimsy me as storage tubs in the kitchen – not stiff enough to properly clean to use.

Plant pots? again, not the most stable pots tend plant, the pots in the world, but a lot Starter modules/seedling to be a similar quality so that you could be used.

Since you are often especially transparent, it would be useful for storing small items such as screws or pearls.

Any other suggestions reuse?

How can I reuse or recycle plastic deli counter wrapping?

We’ve had an email from Iona:

The deli counter at Sainsburys insists on wrapping every item in its own yards of plastic wrap including multiple plastic sheets and then the plastic bag. Can they be recycled with carrier bags?

Plastic bags are usually made from polyethylene – which can be high-density (HDPE – resin code 2) or low-density (LDPE – resin code 4). I’m not certain – so please correct me if I’m wrong – but I believe the plastic bags from food counters are LDPE. LDPE is collected for recycling in many areas but you might want to check with your local council to see if you can add it to your doorstep recycling, or if you’re using a carrier bag drop at a supermarket, see if there is any information on the box about that sort of thing.

Before thinking about reuses and recycling ideas though, try to reduce if you can. Ask them to use a single sheet if they must use one at all or swap to non-deli items with more recyclable packaging – although that’s easier said than done because so many refrigerator items from supermarkets come in hard to recycle plastic. (Our little independent butcher in Leeds used as much plastic as any supermarket counter I’ve ever seen too.) I know some people (Mrs Green from My Zero Waste for example) take reusable tubs for the deli people to use instead – I suspect stores’ policies will vary on whether or not they let people do this but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Has anyone any advice on getting the fresh food counter people to cut back on the amount of plastic or use tubs you’ve brought from home?

And are there any reuse ideas for plastic sheets etc?
