How can I reuse or recycle old musical instrument Reed?

Amber sent us an email about Reed musical instruments asked:

I have tons of old Alto Saxophone reeds lying around and I was wondering if someone has an idea how you had reuse and recycling?

I am incredibly Unmusical, but Wikipedia tells me tend Reed, cane, make, however, there are an increasing amount of synthetic those in use.

The first idea that springs to mind turns it into a kind of jewelry - a subtle nod to your musical skills. Could necklace or bracelet chunky - possible, in a statement might be a bit like make this necklace or much had this bracelet (are made of the shell but I was thinking about the shape more than anything else). Or if you have a few, dangling earrings?

Any other ideas on how can recycled?
