Maybe it's only the blogs I read, but it seems, as more people than ever think make gifts Christmas.
There are many ideas out there for production of pastries, cakes and jams, knit or crochet some pretty - but when you're looking for a really economical total Christmas, all these ingredients & yarns: what about things that you can make by reuse/recycling/Upcycling out things around the House?
Here are my favorite ideas for simple and economical Upcycled Christmas gifts:
Handkerchiefs are easy to make from each soft old cotton fabric - bedding or to clothing. They are simple but always useful - and help reduce the recipient tissue use disposable.
Not feel I did too boring white - that, in the picture from an old pink gingham shirt - and think, monogramming / embroidery, thus you very special.
(Use 100% cotton fabric, where possible and 100% cotton yarn too, you can process is washed in hot temperatures, if must be.)
As practical, there are a metric bajillion tutorials for outdoor fun shopping bags from pillowcases T-shirts scraps yarn old plastic bags... you name it out a shopping bag out of it!
Pick your poison depending on your skills and again, customize / personalize to the recipients customize.
If you give others presented to you at the same time, use to save the Pocket instead of wrapping paper more waste.
