Green Halloween: How can I reuse or recycle pumpkin seeds?

In our Green Halloween series before the spooky day on Sunday...

If you are your own Jack o Lantern carving this weekend, you will end with a whole lot of pumpkin seeds.

While there are varieties of pumpkin, which both taste pretty good, growing to a lantern friendly size most shop bought tend pumpkins grown for one or the other - and those particularly in lanterns are not tend sold to ever sein.Die learnt seeds could still scooped out and roasted - but plan will compensate for Add, spices and other tasty things or drowning in toffee.

While some breeders produce frown to save seeds from shop bought (because you often less as hybrids are breed true, don't know what you was pollinated with and it can disease risks), it is fairly easy to grow your own next year to save pumpkin seeds (instructions at the bottom of this page).

Other people use the pumpkin seeds crafty purposes — for example, you make fun pearls for chunky jewelry or mosaic tiles for children.

Ours, go along with each watery, people use as part of their Lantern creations at our Hühner.Andere tasteless meat which scooped out.

Any other suggestions for what to do with pumpkin seeds?

How can I reuse or recycle straw mats & table mats?

We have an email from Katy had:

Cleaning out mein's mum cabinets I found some tatty straw napkins and a number of roller coasters that must be as old as me! Can I compost?

Perhaps.May want to omit a cautious composter - not sure if the straw have been treated with something and the thread uses, to keep you together is possibly - synthetic but if less worried about things as straw were ((oder_aehnliche_gewebte_Holz,_wenn_es_nicht_eigentlich_Stroh) you would rot probably pretty quickly down, as soon as it got warm and moist and you could remove just the thread if it remained intact.)

Before you on your compost pile to throw, you could reuse however exploring or Upcycling you first.

How about of with you a fun casual bag or purse? it's a how-to on Craftster on which constitute a bag from a large placemat - I'm sure it could be modified if the placemats smaller and not embroidered waren.sehr floppy straw of placemats made clearly in hats as well.

Tattiness by the edges is? maybe you could be neatened up with a bit sewing - reattach the stray strands in the matte and/or cover edges with strips of fun Gewebe.Wenn tatty one page or the other side order is colored, you could be covered with a thin layer of cloth - straw would protect the table.

Home-based recycling and recovery to be business manual

I bootstrapped my way in the recovery and recycling business in the early 1980s. I started with the construction of deconstruction and scrap metals and then moved in electronics, computers and telecommunications scrap where I learned gold and other precious metals to restore.

Recycling and the recovery effort, my opinion is the perfect home-based business. There is no better time than now to get into it.Compared to when I was in business in the 1980s began, inflation has approximately doubled — meaning, it takes about $ 2 to buy now, what can be said for $ 1 in the 1980s (housing, cars and some other items in the price increased much more than 2 X, but on average, which is true) .these same period used prices, which, for you equipment, precious, non-ferrous and ferrous metals rise 4 to 10 times.

Also, over this same period more importiert.Viele of these products are inferior, and some have serious health and safety Auswirkungen.dadurch the value of the materials and equipment.

My home-based recycling and recovery business manual contains information about my experiences in the following:
